Pathway to Licensure for Conditionally Licensed Teachers in Public and Private Schools
91°µÍø offers a pathway for conditionally licensed teachers to receive their Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree and to be eligible for initial licensure in Maryland.
This pathway is designed for teachers who are currently teaching in their desired licensure area. Candidates may enroll in the part-time pathway to fulfill MAT degree and licensure requirements or candidates may select relevant coursework needed for alternative licensure.

Admission Requirements
- Must be a full-time teacher of record in area of licensure.
- Test scores are required for applicants with an overall GPA under 3.0 on the most recent degree earned. See our admission requirements for more information.
- Applicants must have required prerequisite courses in the desired area of licensure. More information can be found on the elementary or secondary education program pages.
- Send official transcripts to mat@loyola.edu to determine if prerequisite courses have been met.

Practical, Real-World Application
Students complete clinical experiences in Professional Development and partnership schools in the greater Baltimore area. Students who are already teaching in their licensure area may have the option to complete their field experiences and/or internship in their schools.
