Spring Welcome Weekend Schedule

We can't wait to welcome our new Greyhounds to campus this Spring! Below is some general schedule information. Students should pay close attention to their 91做厙 amail for the most updated and accurate orientation information.

Spring Welcome Weekend will take place Saturday, January 11th through Sunday, January 12th and is mandatory for all new students. An orientation fee is included with all new student deposits which fully covers the cost of orientation.

9:00am - 12:00pm

Resident Students Check-In to Residence Halls

Residential students receive their room key and Loyola student ID card. Please refer to emails from Residence Life & Housing for details.

2:00pm - 2:30pm

Commuter Student Meeting

This is for any transfer students who are commuting to campus, hosted by our Commuter Student Organization (CSO). Take this opportunity to learn more about the expectations and tips of being a Loyola commuter student.

2:30pm - 3:00pm

Welcome Session

All new students and their families are invited to a causal welcome program where you will be introduced to university administrators.烊ight refreshments will be provided. 

3:00pm - 3:30pm

Evergreen Small Group Meeting

This time will be a chance for new students to get to know each other and connect with their Evergreen.

3:40pm - 4:10pm

Academics at Loyola

Becoming a part of Loyolas vibrant academic community is an invitation to embark on an exciting journey of discovery and growth. Imagine the connections you'll forge with inspiring professors, the collaboration with classmates, and the intellectual challenges that will ignite your passion. Will you dive into this journey with curiosity, honesty, and a readiness to embrace new responsibilities? How will you leave your unique mark on this incredible journey? 

4:10pm - 4:45pm Title IX/Womens Center

This session is part of a continuing conversation about building a community free of sexual misconduct. We will address definitions of consent and sexual misconduct, including processes for reporting and addressing incidents and resources. You will also learn how you can play a role in building a strong community by intervening in situations where there is potential for harm. 

5:00pm

Loyola Greyhounds Basketball Game

On your first day on campus start to build your school spirit by attending your first Loyola basketball game as a Greyhound.

6:30pm - 8:00pm

New Student Dinner @ Boulder

Enjoy dinner with your fellow new students while learning how our dining system works here at Loyola.

Evergreen Small Group Meeting

Meet with your Evergreen to go over the previous day and answer any questions that came out of yesterday. Reflect on what you have learned so far and how you will start your Loyola journey. There will be bagels and Starbucks drinks provided.  

10:30am - 11:30am

Student Success Workshop

This will be an interactive session that will focus on how you as a student can be successful in and out of the classroom. You will learn about all the Loyola specific things you will need to know and how to get involved on campus and feel connected to the Loyola community.  

11:30am - 12:30pm

Lunch & Campus Tour
Your Evergreen will walk you around campus to see where your classes are and to point out the locations of the resources you learned about yesterday.  

1:00pm - 1:30pm

Wellness Session

You will be provided with an overview of the Counseling Center services. There will be a facilitated discussion on making the most of your time at Loyola. This will be an informal discussion and a chance to connect to your fellow transfer students around issues of transition and adjusting to campus life at Loyola, while taking care of yourselves through the process. 

1:30pm - 2:00pm

Mission Session
This session will explore our Ignatian Heritage, connecting our values to the founder of the Society of Jesus, St. Ignatius of Loyola. The session will end with an introduction to the Ignatian Examen a spiritual practice that serves as a tool for self-awareness and ongoing reflection #AMDG 

5:00pm - 6:00pm

Mass

For those who would like to attend, join the Loyola community in the first Mass of the spring semester. 

8:00pm - 10:00pm

Everything You Forgot at Home Bingo!

Did you forget something at home? Something that you need to complete your room? Come stop by Bingo where we will have all the things you may have forgotten at home to save the day

What is an Evergreen?

The Evergreens are a group of student mentors who volunteer their time to assist new students in their transition to college. Evergreens represent a diverse group of students from various backgrounds, class years, and majors.
