The Pantry

Pantry of nonperishable food

"We belong to each other." -Mother Teresa

Mission

Loyola manifests its effort to honor, care for, and educate the whole person by encouraging its constituents to strive after intellectual, physical, psychological, social, and spiritual health and well-being. Caring for the whole person means ensuring students have their essential needs met.

About

Campus Ministry, in partnership with the Division for Student Development, established Loyola’s food pantry in the fall of 2019 in order to provide non-perishable food, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, etc. to students who are experiencing food insecurity or financial need. In a world where the cost of higher education is placing greater and greater financial strain on our students, we hope that this pantry can serve as a resource in alleviating some of that hardships our students might experience.

As of October 2024, the Food Pantry is now located in Seton Court 02B, under the Office of Student Support & Wellness Promotion. If you are a student seeking assistance with food insecurity and are interested in accessing the pantry, please contact sswp@loyola.edu.

Donations

The Food Pantry is funded through a combination of university funds and generous donors. We accept donations of non-perishable food in jars, cans, and individually sealed packets. We recommend sauces, soups, beans, vegetables in cans or jars, pasta, cereal boxes, hygiene products, and snacks.

If you are seeking to make a donation, please drop by Seton Court 02B or send an email to sswp@loyola.edu.
