Course Registration Advice from Current Loyola Students

A graduate of the class of 2020, Priyanka Agadi created the video below to help new students normalize and cope with the emotions they experience during course registration, and to offer advice from current Loyola students who have gone through the process of course registration. Priyanka majored in communications with a minor in marketing and was an Evergreen Leader for the Office of Student Engagement and a Marketing Intern for Loyola Athletics.

Fall 2024 Course Withdrawal

The Fall 2024 withdrawal period begins on September 10, 2024. The deadline for undergraduate students to withdraw from Fall 2024 course(s) with a grade of 鈥淲鈥� is Monday, December 2, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. In order to withdraw, students must complete the Change of Registration form with their 颈苍蝉迟谤耻肠迟辞谤鈥檚 signature and bring it to the Academic Advising and Support Center in Maryland Hall, Room 138 before 5:00 p.m. on December 2nd.  During the final two days of the course withdrawal period, AASC may approve a course withdrawal without the signature of the course instructor. 

Student athletes will also need a signature from their athletics advisor, and International Students must consult with Sunanda Bhatia, Director of International Student Services prior to submitting the form. Students are also encouraged to consult with the Office of Financial Aid at 410-617-2576 if they have any questions or concerns about the potential impact of a course withdrawal on their financial aid or scholarship. Most aid and scholarships require students to maintain full-time status (12 credits or more).

Spring 2025 Registration Dates

• Class of 2025: October 23, 2024
• Class of 2026: October 30, 2024
• Class of 2027: November 6, 2024
• Class of 2028: November 13, 2024

6th course registration for the Class of 2025 opens October 24, 2024.

6th course registration for the Spring 2025 semester opens November 15, 2024. 

Undergraduate students will be permitted to drop/add courses for Spring 2025 until Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Please note that AASC will be closed on January 20 for the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. If you are in need of manual registration assistance (i.e. approved overrides or specialized studies), you must visit AASC in MH 138 prior to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17.

Spring 2025 Course Override Requests

Students looking to register for a closed (full) spring course may submit a .

All course overrides are reviewed by the department chair and are only approved if there are extenuating circumstances. The override request will not be processed if there is a time conflict with your existing schedule, you do not have 6th course permission from your advisor, or if there is a financial or registration hold on your account.

Course instructors do not have authority to grant overrides.

Please continue to check Student Planning for openings in your desired course. You may add/drop courses yourself in Student Planning. The deadline to register for Spring 2025 courses is 11:59 PM, Monday, January 20, 2025.  

NOTE: Sixth (6th) course registration will open to Seniors (Class of 2025) on October 24, 2024 beginning at Midnight.  Sixth (6th) course registration opens to all other students on November 15, 2024 at Midnight and will remain open until the add/drop deadline, 11:59 PM, Monday, January 20, 2025.
